Habema Soldiers Treated The Wound Of Emondi Child Due To Playing Football

INTAN JAYA - Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad is one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA. The 509 Task Forces is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the region of Intan Jaya Regency. On Thursday, 22 August 2024.

The 509 Task Forces, especially the Holomama Post led by First Lieutenant Wanianto, conducted a security patrol in the Emondi Village, Sugapa District. During the patrol, the Patrol Team met a child named Apolos Murib, who had injured his leg due to falling while playing football with his friends.

During their patrol, the Soldiers noticed Apolos sitting on the field's edge, clearly in pain. Upon approaching him, they discovered that he had injured his leg while playing with his friends. Despite the pain, Apolos was comforted by his friends.

Luckily, a Medical personnel from the Task Forces was also part of the Patrol Team during the patrol. Seeing Apolos' condition, the personnel immediately checked and treated his leg wound. After the treatment, the personnel gave Apolos free medicine to consume for the next few days to heal his wound.

The actions of the Patrol Team in Emondi Village followed up on the emphasis of the Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, regarding the importance of the Task Force's attention to the community's basic needs in the assigned area. After the treatment, Apolos said, "Thank you, Om Tentara (Soldier). I am happy that the TNI is helping the people."

Upon receiving the program report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, expressed his pride, saying, "The initiative of the 509 Task Forces providing treatment to a child in Kampung Emondi is the TNI's implementation of providing basic needs services to support acceleration of development in the Papua region." This positive response from the military leadership reassures the event's success and underscores its impact on the community.
