Sports With Habema Strengthens TNI Polri Synergy In Papua

INTAN JAYA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, the 509 Task Forces, especially the Kotis Mamba Post, held a Joint Sports activity for the TNI (the Indonesian Armed Forces) and Polri (the Indonesian Police) while maintaining the areal security.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, the Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs in the assigned area. Therefore, the Kotis Mamba Post has prepared a plan for Joint Sports activities for the TNI Soldiers and Polri Personnel at the sports facilities owned by the Task Forces. The theme for this Joint Sports activity is synergy and togetherness between the TNI Soldiers and Polri Personnel, who are both maintaining the security of the Papua region. This activity strengthens the bond between the Security Forces personnel and provides a much-needed break from their routine tasks, promoting mental and physical well-being.

One of the Joint Sports activities held on Tuesday (17/9) was a volleyball match. The TNI Soldiers and Polri Personnel who participated in the volleyball match were enthusiastic about following the activity, which was full of a harmonious and family atmosphere. The Polri Personnel who attended the Joint Sports activity participated and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome from the 509 Soldiers. One of them was Bripda Pol Jonathan Sitinjak, who said, "Thank you, Commander 509. We are proud to be able to attend and play volleyball with TNI Soldiers at this Post. God bless us all."

Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to hold Joint Sports activities for the TNI Soldiers and Polri Personnel at the Kotis Mamba Post. His words: 'The 509 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.'
