Papua - On October 15, 2024, the 501st Para Raider Infantry Battalion, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, brought smiles and learning to Sorry Elementary School with their "Smart Papua" program.
Led by Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, the soldiers provided fun and engaging arithmetic lessons to second-grade students. This initiative is part of their commitment to supporting local communities and enhancing education in the region.

The teachers and principal of the school welcomed the soldiers, who eagerly participated in discussions to tailor the program to the students' needs. During the lessons, the children showed great enthusiasm, and one student, Ham Murib, joyfully exclaimed, "Thank you, Commander 501. I understand how to count. God bless you!"
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the HABEMA Commanding General, praised the initiative, highlighting its positive impact on community development and education in Papua. He stated, "This program reflects our commitment to inclusive communication and support for the people of Papua."
The "Smart Papua" initiative not only helps students learn but also fosters a sense of hope and partnership between the military and the community, laying a foundation for a brighter future.
